@N.antoschka, because every thing compare to BTC and you can exchange them with BTC. so when BTC start going up, you should sell your ALTs because of BTC-ALTs ratio. e.g when BTC is 12k, ETH is 1.2k and their BTCETH ratio is 0.12, means that every ETH cost about 0.12BTC. now when BTC go up about 14k, their ratio become something like 0.1, every ETH cost about 0.1BTC, means that with the same amount of BTC you can buy more ETH.

It makes no sense to create a chart for the altcoins, if it is unclear whether bitcoin rises or falls. The price movement is 1 to 1. Rises bitcoin - also oldcoins rise. Falls bitcoin - fall also oldcoins.

@N.antoschka, no this is not right, altcoins are great and full of profit. you use bitcoin to store your money, bitcoin has its up and downs, with 1200$, you can buy about 1000 ripple at 1.2$, ripple is a strong coin and has a lot of potential to go up, it can go up to 2.4$ and your money become 2x and this can continue to 4$,10$ ..., bitcoin was like this small coins, it started from 0$ to 20k$, you should track alts, some of this coin has a potential like BTC, look at ETH coin, when i know it, it was at 300$, now it is 1200$, means 4x, BTC is king, when it start to move, we move, when it consolidating, we get in ALTs party because, btc is resting and we can use our gain from BTC to buy cheap alt and sell them at higher price to gain more BTC
