I agree with your analysis as a medium term view. In the short term, I believe it will consolidate in the $47+ - $52+ area (refer my analysis)
RE your car and wallet ... it was only a few short years ago that oil was $120+
So this is still cheap although the retailers think it is a lot dearer judging by bowser prices.

And very true: $ 140 in 2008 and $ 105 in 2014. Back when I didn't have a car :).
