As you can see on the MACD, a crossover occured showing signs of an uptrend. Guess what - an uptrend did occur. Use the MACD!!! Also, if you had looked at the RSI a few minutes beforehand, you would have seen that it was at about 30-40, which COULD (not should) signs of going long! If that does not work for you, go for time frames such as 4H to see if your theory is correct!
