CBOT wheat ease on soft exports

Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) wheat futures inched lower on Thursday, pressured by lackluster weekly export sales, traders said.

  • Most-active CBOT March soft red winter wheat (WH3) eased 3-1/4 cents to settle at $7.46-1/4 a bushel.

  • The spot December contract (WZ2) dropped 2-3/4 cents to $7.25-1/4 a bushel.

  • K.C. March hard red winter wheat (KWH3) lost 4 cents to $8.44-3/4 a bushel, and MGEX March spring wheat (MWEH3) added 7-1/2 cents to $9.09-1/2 a bushel.

  • U.S. exporters sold 189,800 tonnes of wheat during the week ended Dec. 1, near the low end of analysts' forecasts ranging from 150,000 to 400,000 tonnes.

  • Egypt's state grains buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC), is believed to have bought 260,000 tonnes of wheat on Thursday via private talks with suppliers, traders told Reuters.

  • Brazil's 2022 wheat crop is seen at 9.55 million tonnes, according to agricultural agency CONAB, versus 9.5 million tonnes in its previous estimate.
