Question: Can Converging lines pattern predict a future price?

I would like some help from you guys. Theres always a pattern if you draw lines that cross highs or lows, that usually converge into a certain period in future time.
I'm not a trader, just a curious.

Question: is there any literature or authors that work on this kind of patterns?
