Gap up opening followed by a sell off and then massive short covering followed by a second episode of selling. In this market almost everyone got their views right but how many have made money is a question that needs to be asked. Nifty made an M pattern following which the down move started but it is mentally difficult to take a short position after such a massive short covering.
