The above channel was formed right after the 2008 financial crisis, and it continues to be a good Trend indicator, on may 2020 the spx broke the channel by closing under the support line however it recovered shorty after investor sentiment become more positive, in the current picture above we can see that it has already broken the channel by closing above the line however based on what happened in 2020 a retracement to the middle of the channel is in due to correct the uptrend.
