President Neel Kashkari of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis believes it may take a year or two to bring inflation back to 2%. The strong US economic data and hawkish Fed tone are supporting the US dollar and suppressing gold prices, as higher interest rates increase the cost of holding non-yielding assets.
