The supertrend is a trend-following overlay placed directly on price charts as a single line that shifts color and position according to trend direction. This indicator was developed by Olivier Seban, primarily to simplify trend detection for traders. Its value is calculated using the Average True Range (ATR) and a multiplier to adjust for market volatility.
