This alone made this so called “trend line” a liquidity line
Meaning there is a lot of sell and buy order accumulated within this pattern.

This was a NFP day.
While we were waiting for price to target out buy zone, it had completely disregarded our zone and gave no sort of confrontation to enter the market, this happened on a Friday combined with NFP we had a perfect recipe for volatility thus a lot of slippage.
